TEAM-THINK RESPONSES: charity involvement, differentiate yourself, and targeted prospecting

Monday, September 29, 2014

Team-ThinkOur September Networking@Noon event featured a Team-Think activity, inviting our attendees to collaborate with their table-mates to think of new and innovative solutions to everyday business questions. Below are some of the responses that our members came up with that day.

Question: As a charity what can I offer to make sponsorship more lucrative or make our organization part of your marketing plan? And/or is it more important to the businesses that they be seen as having strong community ties/philanthropic ideals or that they get exposure to target markets somehow through their support?

Response

  • Partner up with a company whose target market is well aligned with the goals/mandate of the charity.
  • Personal values of the person you’re approaching/ the company’s values, how well aligned.
  • Acknowledgement/recognition for sponsoring company; plaques, pictures, t-shirts, newspaper advertising.

Question: No matter what business you’re in, chances are there’s someone else out the offering a similar service in your market. What can you do to differentiate yourself from your contemporaries in the same field?

Response:

  • Personal Customer service; feel welcome.
  • Knowing your client.
  • Offer value, service.
  • Ease of doing business.
  • Educate your client.
  • Live up to Clients expectations.

Question: Tips and Tools for targeted prospecting

Response:

  • Determine your target audience.
  • Find out contact information.
  • Send out introduction to your company.
  • Follow up with phone call & possible emails or fax.
  • Advertise to target audience, radio, tv, etc.
