Accessibility Legislation Workshops

The Oro-Medonte Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Orillia and District Community Development Corp. to offer the following 2 workshops on Accessibility Legislation Requirements.

Workshop Leader: Effective Accessibility Consulting; Sandy Johnston

Location: R&F Construction Meeting Room; 73 Paterson Rd., Forest Home Industrial Park, Oro-Medonte.

1st workshop Mon. March 28th 9am -12:00

Topic: Accessible Customer Service Management Overview; The Accessible Customer Service Management Overview is a three hour workshop which includes the policy and training requirements and priorities that your organization must consider to comply with the accessibility legislation. Any business or organization with one employee or more must comply with this legislation. The Management Overview Workshop will assist your management staff to move ahead with implementing the requirements of the Accessible Customer Service Standard, Ontario Regulation 429/07.

The content of the workshop is appropriate for Owners/Operators, Directors, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Administrative Officers and Senior Management or any other staff members responsible for developing your organization's policies and training. This workshop does not meet the requirements of Accessible Customer Service Training as defined by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Customer Service Standards.

Cost: $ 10.00 OMCC Chamber Members; $15.00 non-OMCC members.

2nd Workshop Mon. March 28th 1:00-4:00 pm.

Topic: Person to Person Accessible Customer Service Training This 3 hour interactive and educational workshop brings understanding of the issues experienced by those who have a disability. Participants will engage in disability simulations, have discussions on the 6 main categories of disabilities, learn effective communication and interactive strategies for serving clients with disabilities as well as examining existing barriers.

This informative, enlightening and inspirational workshop meets all requirements of Ontario Regulation 429/07; Accessible Customer Service Standard and upon completion, each participant receives a Resource Manual and Certificate of Participation.

Cost; $10.00 OMCC Members; $15.00 non-OMCC members.
