2011 Barrie Fall Fishing Festival - September 23rd to October 2nd

Friday, August 12, 2011

The Rotary Club of Barrie Huronia is launching a new Barrie Fall Fishing Festival, a catch & release perch fishing tournament, and they are looking for your help. Patterned after Orillia and Owen Sound, the benefits to both the community and to Barrie's commerce are obvious. Not only is the event another reason to come to Barrie but there are many built in reasons to stay and play too!

The Barrie Fall Fishing Festival is a new Barrie event encouraging people of all ages to enjoy the fishing, the beautiful fall weather and the spectacular fall colours of Kempenfelt Bay. This fund raising event benefits environmental projects related to improving the health & well being of Lake Simcoe, in addition to many other local community projects including Rotary House, lodging for cancer treatment patients and their families, and a $1,500,000.00 commitment to the regional cancer care centre in Barrie. Put on by the Rotary Club of Barrie Huronia, the event is anticipated to be the largest of its kind on Lake Simcoe. An estimated prize pool in excess of $50,000 is expected to attract more than 5000 anglers over the 10-day period.

A variety of sponsorship levels are available for the festival; in particular, the bronze sponsor - for details, please click here to see the sponsorship form. Preferably, sponsors will sign up prior to August 23rd to receive the full benefits of sponsorship.

By sponsoring this event either by donating money, products or services in kind, you and your company would join other like-minded businesses in contributing to the local community through one of the many Rotary projects that these proceeds will help to fund.

Below are some benefits of becoming a sponsor:

  1. Each bronze sponsor receives print recognition distribution to participants during the event.
  2. Identified as bronze sponsors in both major newspapers, pre and post events.
  3. For $375.00 plus HST sponsors are credited with sponsoring a $500.00 tagged fish.
  4. Recognition on the festival website, www.bfff.ca
  5. Opportunity for special media attention if their fish is caught.
  6. Certificate for each sponsor identifying them as a supporter and thanking them for it.
  7. The opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new and exciting community event.
