St. John Ambulance

About Us

St. John Ambulance is at the forefront, providing first aid training and medical assistance to people in need. St. John Ambulance Barrie Simcoe Muskoka branch was established in 1942 and is a charity supporting Simcoe County and Muskoka District. There are 3 employees at this branch. Revenue generated from our training programs and sales of first aid kits/Automated External Defibrillator supports St. John Ambulance charitable work locally. Before the pandemic, in 2019 our Medical First Response volunteers attended 220 events in our area, treated 87 casualties, contributed over 9888 hours, and made over 750,000 people who attended those events feel safer. Our Therapy Dog volunteers in 2019, completed 3191 visits to seniors in hospitals and nursing homes and gave over 8829 hours. Our Car seat educators helped with 220 car seats and gave 986 hours of their time. All in all, the Barrie Simcoe Muskoka volunteers contributed more than 22,382 volunteer hours to the communities we serve.

COVID-19 Advisory

In response to evolving data around the Delta variant and based on the recent experiences of other jurisdictions, the government, in consultation with Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, is pausing the exit from the Roadmap to Reopen.

The Chief Medical Officer of Health and other health experts will continue to monitor the data to determine when it is safe to exit the Roadmap and lift the majority of public health and workplace safety measures currently in place.

Thank you for the work you have already done to protect our community by following public health protocols throughout these challenging times.

Stay strong, choose local, and please consider participating in our Rapid Screening Program to help reduce community spread.
