Position Title: Membership Sales Contract
Location: Greater Barrie Chamber of Commerce (GBCC)
Reports to: Interim Executive Director / General Manager
Status: Full Time (contract)

Membership Sales representatives are charged with developing new business and servicing clients identified within a specific portfolio and/or geographical territory.

Major Responsibility Areas:

  • New Member Sales – sourcing own leads; follow up on referrals coming through the office.
  • Member Retention - in the form of attending Chamber events; assisting existing members through direction to appropriate resources; connecting members with each other through networking & introductions, etc.
  • Sponsorship Referrals – for new sponsorships only; excludes house accounts; sponsorship packages available will be provided.
  • Directory Sales – within determined timelines (pricing structure will be provided).
  • Additional sales opportunities may arise and can be discussed with management when brought forward by either the Chamber or Membership Sales Representative.  
  • Additional or different responsibilities or duties, which are consistent with the position summary, may be assigned at the discretion of management.

Experience:

  • Sales experience in a related field of three (3) or more years.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability:

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in visual, written, and verbal form.
  • Flexibility to accommodate deadlines, meeting/event attendance as may be required to meet Chamber and customer needs.
  • Regular reporting of activity, availability, and results.

Remuneration:

  • Remuneration is paid on a commission basis for this contract.
