As of January 1, 2012 the Accessibility Standard for Customer Service comes into effect for private sector organizations and applies to all businesses that:
Provide goods or services either
directly to the public or to other businesses or organizations - Have one or more employees in Ontario
In June, the Greater Barrie Chamber of Commerce held a 3 hour training workshop for members and their employees to get certified to meet the training requirements of the Customer Service Standard. Joanne Stuart & Crystal Dolliver from Northern Lights Canada provided the information needed to better serve customers with disabilities.
